Sunday Morning Relaxing

Well It's Sunday Morning, and I'm hanging out, trying to get inspired to do some work today while enjoying my day off. I have alot of work to do before the artwalk next week, will have some art for sale, as well as some Holiday ornaments and gifts for the art loving shopper!

There is still time to order a custom pyrographed pet portrait for Christmas, A very unique piece of art that makes a wonderful memorial too!

I am now represented by Xanadu Galley as a studio artist, help me out, the more sales I have the more likely I'll be invited to Scottsdale to exhibit in gallery (blatent plug... but hey, why not?)
And so, now that I have finished my coffee, I guess it's time to get to work!

Art and Laziness on the Road

I had just about finished my new acrylic piece, and used some floor finish to final coat, and lo and behold it had a weird chemical reaction, and I'm quite happy with the result...

Well, I made my bi-weekly (or so) trip up to LA to visit the man friend (boyfriend just sounds odd when you're over 50...) A couple of weeks ago we went to the Pasadena Art and learning expo, and scored some great deals on canvas and a really nice cradled wood panel! here is a link to their site, they are such cool people too!
Duho Art Panels

Coming up if you are in the Temecula Area on the 19th of November, stop over at the Promenade Mall, and say hi at the ArtWalk!

Wish I had a new tip for you for this installment, but I'm about to go and have a beer....
so I'll just leave you with this photo of my grand daughter doing her best impression of the Rock and the people's eyebrow.. not bad for a 4 month old!

PS
I'm now networking my blog through facebook, so here is the verification that I am actually the owner of this... (come on who in their right mind would hijack this blog ???)anyway, if you want to follow me, say howdy and click on the follow!!

So much to do so little time...

well, I've been so lax in keeping inventory up in the venues I have here on the net... So this morning I decided to work on the line of greeting cards I have out on Greeting Card Universe, A really nifty Greeting Card site with some absolutely beautiful, original greeting cards for any occasion you can think of.
I actually got a widget going today... here it is! feel free to click through and buy any of the cards you want (hahaha) Ya I know, my marketing skills aren't the best, but hey, I'm workin on it!

So there is the Widget, check it out, and leave a comment on my storefront!

In other art news... (or my news anyway) Finished "Survivor", formally known as "Muse" but it really took on a life of its own, and morphed into a tribute to cancer survivors.

Thank God it's Friday!! What to accomplish for the weekend?

Well, it's Friday, Got a bit of a cold, and in need of coffee! That being said, I am one of those people who have great ideas for everything I want to accomplish for the weekend, and have so many grandiose plans, that invariably Sunday night rolls around, And I have done absolutely nothing... sound familiar?
Well my challenge to myself for this weekend is simple... I really need to shampoo the carpets, and finish my painting. Those are the only two things I really need to do. How about you guys out there? Just pick one or two things you want to accomplish this weekend, and then go do them! It doesnt have to be anything major, just one little thing you set out to do, and then do, can do wonders for your morale! (not to mention how many times you can use "do" in a sentence...)
So That is my Friday thought, now on to other things... I am in the process of updating my ImageKind Shop, Put in a new work, the digital rendering of the mixed media piece I'm working on, it makes a great print, so if you're in the market, check it out!

And now for a neat tip and technique! Again, from CapricornArtist 73, He has such great ideas, that can be easily adapted, though I have NO idea where to get bitumen...

And of course, something that has no intrinsic value, I just think it's really odd, So ..SING IT!

What does Too Busy Mean?

I'm blogging in between cleaning the kitchen, straightening the living room, wanting to finish that painting... oh yeah I also have to go to the gym, and then to my pay the bills job... so what is too busy?
I am always complaining that I'm "too busy" but I've noticed that it usually involves me being too busy to do something I didnt want to do anyway, "too busy" to work out, "Too busy" to clean house, so just for today, I'm NOT going to say I'm too busy.
And by the end of this week, my goal is to have a clean house, a pinting done, and a whole weeks worth of work outs under my belt! What are your "too busy" goals to accomplish?

And on that note...here is Wednesdays great technique from The coolest Aussie artist on you tube, CapricornArtist73!
Today, easy bubble technique!

And for all you Raider fans out there, This reminds me of my ex back in the day when the Raider Nation kicked Ass!

ok, so i'm not a good blogger, but i'm trying!

Well I've decided to not make this blog totally about my art , and what's for sale, yada yada yada, so interspersed between my works in progress, finished stuff, etc, will be alot of useful tips and vids of the trade, and probably even more useless but funny (at least to me) videos and links...
So first things first! I'm re creating my style (again) and while I will probably still be doing my fantasy and lowbrow stuff, I'm trying a bit more conceptual work, and alot more mixed media. Got two in the works right now, here's one of them,

It still needs lots of work, but coming along! it is a mixed media acrylic, and dunhams water putty on illustration board, quite a departure from my usual work, but lots of fun!

And now for the useful tip part of Tuesdays blog! I came across this guy on youtube, and he has loads of great tips! here's a good one for texturing and a cool marble effect

and of course, i promised useless makes no sense whatsoever stuff too, so in honor of the many potlucks at work, full of poncet and lumpia... here it is!

ok til tomorrow! I'm off to have coffee!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Monday Mrorning Blahs...

ok, so it's monday morning, I'm up, having my morning coffee, and trying to figure out something fairly interesting to blog about this morning. I am very ambivalent about Mondays, the weekend is over, time to go out and bring home the bacon! Would love to hear others thoughts on how they balance the need to work a traditional ,boring job, and trying to become self sufficient as an artist. On my end, the day starts with trying to wake up the 17 year old for school, feeding her baby girl while she showers (ah yes the modern family, grandma, teen mom, and baby make 3!) drinking coffee, and maybe getting inspired enough to create a masterpiece??? all the while catching up on old episodes of America's Got Talent....Off to the grind at 2:00 p.m, hoping to get discovered as the next great undiscovered talent...(or just sell something LOL)
Will be updating my blogs and showcasing pieces of art and such from talented artists I know, and maybe even throwing my stuff up here now and then... Tuesdays is Tips and tricks day, so check back in for some ideas from artists around the net!
